After multiple races under my belt, countless training days, specific nutrition plans, mental prep sessions, and sore muscles, I still find myself stuggling to compete. I spend over 8 hours a week in my car traveling to the tower, crossfit gyms, parks and hills, so that i'm able to prepare my body and mind for the MAIN EVENT!
The Fire Fighters Combat Challenge might be the "Toughtest 2 mintues in Sports", its also one of the most expensive.
Gym fees, gas to practice and race days, entry fees, healthy food, fire gear, hotels, flights, travel, shift changes, supplements and vitamins, late nights, early mornings, missed vacations, work on holidays, to mention just some of the things I SACRAFICE on a regualar basis so that i'm able to Compete as an Elite Firefighter.
I do it for others.
To not only challenge myself to value my health but to Challenge others to get off the couch or choose something healthy to eat for One Day. If I can motivate just 1 individual to become a little more Healthy, then I've achieved my goal of trying to inspire others to be Proactive with their Own health.
Sure, I Love seeing my time decrease after a tough race but HATE the days of training on the Early Sunday morning or on a Late night of a Long Weekend. The training itself is never really fun, it's the type of training that always feels heavy, or seems to give you that immediate sick feeling because of how difficult it is.
I like to think of it as a Love/Hate Relationship !?!
I'm now 8 days away from the 2013 World Combat Challenge and still find myself looking for sponsors. DHL was amazing enough to jump on board and help Sponsor me for the 2013 Canadian Firefit Nationals in Edmonton.
Because of their support I was able to remain the Current Canadian Female Champion and Record Holder! I honestly can't thank them enough.
Now, Can I Help Motivate You? Am I able to Represent Your Company/Brand the way it should be Represented? Is there a way Goals and Dreams can be reached by hard work, dedication and Support?
Why Not Now? Lets make 2013 a year to Never Forget!
