I would like to Thank my Sponsor Duivenvoorden Haulage Ltd.!! Without them I would not have had the opportunity to be a 3rd time Canadian Firefit Champion!
Today's race was not a PB for myself, although I think It was more then a best... This season has held many challenges, so far. From long travel days to training towers, multiple weekends away for competitions, new nutrition plans, weight room ups and downs, injuries, to good friends passing away suddenly... It hasn't been easy.
My training partners, sponsors and support team has been my back bone. My Fit by Fire clients have pushed me to stay ahead of the challenges with their own successes, driving my goals and dreams to the next level!
This year I set out to break 2:00 in the Firefit challenge. While coming up short a few times, I found myself across the line with a 1:58 a couple of days ago! To then notice the dummy's feet were still on the finish line, once again missing my goal time. This may not have counted, but mentally I proved to myself that I can and will beat it!
Today's race was all that... on pace to run a 1:56 with 15 feet to go. I found myself having to re- grip and pick up that 175lbs dummy. Without all my training and mental prep, I'm not sure I would have been able to accomplish the task. I'm here writing this not looking back but only to become stronger. Worlds are 6 weeks away with my expectations being the highest yet. I will continue to train and push towards the goals i've set out for myself. I knew it would never be easy and it will HURT, but i'm not giving up!
Thank you to everyone who "liked", commented or messaged me during this season! Your support means the world to me, and it's YOU that continues to motivate and inspire me! It may not be this year, but I will break this GOAL!
